Our New Seafood Straight From The Pristine Coast Of Alaska
Over at the Beck & Bulow offices, we’re all extremely excited about the new seafood we’re carrying. This is some of the most visually stunning and delicious seafood any of us have ever seen. One of our team members grew up on the coast of Washington eating freshly caught seafood daily, and he was amazed at the quality of this fish. Nothing can compare to seafood from the coast of Alaska, the last frontier. This land and the surrounding waters is one of the most untouched places left on the planet.

Dungeness Crab From The Icy Cold Bering Strait
Dungeness crab is one of my all time favorite foods. They’re the preferred species of crab for Alaskan locals. These large crustaceans are wild caught in the icy cold waters of the Bering Strait. They’re lightly pre-cooked and then flash frozen with the shell intact to ship them at the peak of freshness, ready to be prepared easily and quickly.
There’s so many ways to enjoy this crab, from the classic “boiled and drenched in butter” to crab dip, crab cakes or crab soup. Living in landlocked New Mexico, it’s a dream come true for a seafood lover like me to have access to this incredible crab meat in the comfort of my own home. We purchase these crabs directly from the crabbers themselves, who we carefully selected because we feel like their boat in particular is like-minded to our business values.

Premium Salmon Caught By Fishermen We Know By Name
If you’re a fan of salmon, you’re going to love our new selections of this delicious and meaty fish. In addition to our wild caught Alaskan sockeye salmon, we’re now offering king salmon and coho salmon fillets, along with a variety of mouthwatering smoked salmon - all natural with no weird additives or ingredients. All wild and line-caught by fishermen that we know by name. This is the best salmon any of us have ever tasted, and we’re so excited to offer this amazing and healthy fish.
Sustainable, Line Caught Halibut
Then there’s our halibut, which if you’re not familiar is a mild flavored and sweet white fish. These fish, along with our other seafood selections, are flash frozen straight out of the ocean on the fishing boats. This way, the fish are preserved at the peak of freshness, making this seafood even better than fresh seafood. Just like the salmon, we personally know the fishermen who catch these halibut. We feel so lucky to have connections that allow us to have relationships with the Alaskan fishermen who provide these seafood selections for us.
We have one new seafood offering that is not from Alaska, but I figured we’d still include it here since it fits in with the seafood theme. Our wild blue Mexican shrimp are renowned for the excellent, sweet flavor and tender yet crisp texture. They’re large in size and have a beautiful blue hue that changes to pink when they’re cooked. They are caught using the most sustainable methods in existence for harvesting shrimp. Fishermen use small-scale sailboats and an artisanal technique known as suripera. This method involves using the wind and tides to skillfully drift a highly selective net, resulting in the lowest fuel consumption and bycatch rates in the world.

Bycatch is the term for marine animals, like dolphins, turtles and others, who are harmed in the process of fishing for seafood. Additionally, these are the only Fair Trade certified shrimp on the planet. It’s never been more important than it is now to choose seafood options that are conscious of environmental impact. Our sources go above and beyond industry standards taking care every step of the way to protect the oceans, the wildlife and their employees.
